Spring 2009 Newsletter

  Janet

My husband and I spent some time in Nevada and California in February, which was so lovely. It really gave me an appreciation for the variety of terrain in our country . . . and for how our terrain feeds us and influences who we are.

I am happy to be doing work that is so nourishing for me, and I am still learning how to be balanced. One of the ways I balance is through playing with fabric. I have 2 fiber art pieces currently in public shows.

“Mary, Divine Mom” will be at the 2009 Spiritual Art Show, which opens on Sunday, March 29th, and runs through Friday, April 3rd (free and open to the public from 3:00-7:00 each day). The event will be held at Kolbe Center of Pope John Paul II School, 1630 4th St NE Minneapolis, one block east of University Ave and 17th Ave.

“I Caught a Falling Star” is a part of the Minnesota Contemporary Quilter’s Archi-texture exhibit on display through April 24 at the Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive. My quilt is on the basement level.

Energy Self-Care Tip

We feel best when we have a strong energy field, or aura. The vitality of our energy field is affected by diet, activity level, thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It is also greatly affected by the degree to which we are “grounded,” or connected to the nourishing energy of the Earth. We may ground our energy through prayer, intention, visualization, or –guess what—by spending time outdoors on these lovely Spring days! Notice the sensation of placing the soles of your feet on our planet, as you stand, as you walk, and as you appreciate the Earth.
