“I'd made my regular healing touch appointment for Thursday afternoon - before I found out that the morning of that day was the dentist's best time to remove six worn-out teeth and replace them with "faux fangs". My first, second, and third thoughts were to go straight home from the dentist, crawl under my blanket, and feel sorry for myself. But the fourth thought said, ‘No, you really want to stop at Janet's and get your healing touch work.’
So I did - with my faux fangs and my face all swollen up like an old, obese chipmunk. An hour later, the swelling had gone down considerably. But what has amazed everyone to whom I've told my story is that I not only never filled the pain prescriptions; I also never took so much as an aspirin or ibuprofen. Six fangs gone and no pain worth medicating. My dentist was also impressed; he asked for Janet's card! I did, however, continue to go home and feel sorry for myself; one is entitled to some things."
Janet incorporates Healing Touch, Chinese Energetic Medicine, guided imagery, flower essences, wisdom of the body, intuitive feedback, and client education into her healing sessions. Janet’s career of more than 20 years in Occupational Therapy has primarily been with older adults in long term care settings, although she has had experience working with those with developmental disabilities or mental health needs. She is co-founder of the incorporation of Healing Touch into the OT program at Camilia Rose Care Center in Coon Rapids, MN, where Healing Touch is noted to provide pain relief, increased ease in breathing, relaxation, and increased joint range of motion.

Chinese Energetic Medicine
is a quantum level healing tool, in which the practitioner is able to affect energy in a way in which it can influence matter (i.e., the body) rather quickly. Pain is a sign that something is wrong with the flow of energy in the body. A Chinese Energetic Medicine technique is used to identify root causes underlying the overt symptom. Finding the root of the problem and eliminating it makes it possible to release the physical symptom as well as emotional issues, fears, phobias, and limitations. Blocked energy can manifest in unwanted symptoms. When the flow of energy is re-established, the symptoms can be reversed. At times the symptom reversal is quick and permanent. At other times, there are layers to an issue, which need to continue to be uncovered and addressed. Janet's training in Chinese Energetic Medicine with Dr. Kam Yuen was completed in 2001. Chinese Energetic Medicine (CEM) is not the same as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is a comprehensive system of viewing and treating the human being, which includes but is not limited to the use of acupuncture & herbs.
What does a Healing session look like?
Healing sessions look different for different clients, depending on their goals and needs, and may also look different for the same client at different appointments, again depending on their goals and needs.
During a healing session, you will usually be lying on a massage table fully clothed. You choose whether to have extra covering (sheet or blanket); you choose whether to have relaxing music playing. You may close your eyes or watch the healer. You may feel the healer’s hands lightly placed over different areas of the body to balance your energy. You may see the healer move her hands through the energy field surrounding your body. You may feel warmth or tingling or movement of energy. You may fall asleep or into a deeply relaxed state. You may see colors or images or have thoughts or feelings. It is common for clients to feel relaxed, peaceful, and/or a sense of wonder.
Sometimes there is more interaction, with Janet helping you identify and release stuck energy.
And sometimes, the whole session is interactive. You may be lying down or seated. Again, stuck energy may be identified and released. Intuitive consultation may also be a part of the session. You may have questions about your life purpose, your blocks, and your next steps. You may have pain or tightness or health issues that you would like to explore and improve. You may have related mental and emotional patterns which can be identified and addressed.
Intuition Development
Janet teaches classes on developing intuition. She also helps her clients access their own intuition. She has personally explored intuition for years, and academically studied it while completing her degree in Human Development at St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis.
