I have always appreciated flowers and colors and been fed by visual beauty. Four years ago, I began to intuitively receive information about the essences of different flowers and other plants, in particular how a specific flower may balance energy in a specific part of the body or human energy system. Not surprisingly (to those who have studied the chakra system), yellow flowers tend to assist the 3rd chakra (associated with the color yellow) and/or organs or other physical or non-physical functions associated with this energy center.
When I intuitively receive, or know, the flower essence indicated, I invite that essence or energy to be present in my hands as I place my hands on or near the area of the body where I am working. Clients who are sensitive to energy can feel the difference between different essences I invite to be present in my hands. Some essences are bold, some are gentler. This has become another tool for me to balance energy for my clients to optimize conditions for self-healing.
(Skip this paragraph if you are not a gardener.) My backyard garden includes many perennials, with annuals varying from year to year. The plants include white bleeding heart, pink bleeding heart, fern, columbine, mallow, phlox, flax, lilies, iris, sedum, rose, coreopsis, aster, ironweed, Russian sage, forget-me-not, yarrow, Queen Anne’s lace, butterfly weed, veronica, bee balm, tusenfried, cardinal flower, ajuga, lady’s mantle, evening primrose, sea lavender, milkweed, tansy, peony, Chinese lantern, delphinium, Jacob’s ladder, Dutchman’s breeches, anemone, hepatica, violets, false Solomon’s seal, etc. (In addition to moving much of my garden when we moved to a different house 5 years ago, we discovered after moving that a master gardener previously owned our current house.)
After working for a while with plant essences by inviting their presence in my hands, I began categorizing the information received intuitively about the uses of different plants. I had the opportunity to compare notes with a naturopath and healer Jill LaRue, who is trained in the “traditional” use of plant essences (Bach flower remedies and other systems). Three years into my intuitive use of the essences “by invitation,” I began studying the work of Bach and working with Jill to create classes for others in the use of the (liquid) remedies. The classes are meant for individuals and for healing practitioners to learn a self-care tool for themselves and their clients. Watch Upcoming Classes for training in the use of flower essences.
